Probably a good flick but like RE Lee he made one mistake that defined his career.

Lee invaded the North.

Custer split his detachment and got caught in the low ground.

I have the book, it's a good read

Another great book on the topic is "The Earth Is Weeping" by Peter Cozzens which covers the Indian wars of the West and includes Custer. Custer was part of a three-prong attack but Custer, being Custer, did not wait for the other two elements of the planned attack.
