Here are some pics of the Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness. It evolved from the Sniper Hydration Harness. The difference is that you can you the Contoured Padded Pistol Belt to it to increase useable real estate, and increase comfort.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

How much does the hydration pack interfere with a rifle slung with a biathlon style sling? I am very interested in this kit, but have zero experience with them.

Thanks.

R.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

I would imagine none, as there is really nothing for the sling to catch on, and if anything it would provide some cushion. Not sure if George Gardner is running the Biathlon sling from TAB, but hopefully someone on here can she light.
My personal opinion, not a problem.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Thanks Chiller but I was referring to the Hybrid Harness (SHHH). Other words, I've got the padded belt but needing the rest to complete the Hybrid Hydration assembly.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

How much stuff could a fella put on the padded belt, before one required to use the shoulder straps? Is this even pratical? I'm a hunter, so I don't pack a lot of stuff, but enough that it's a pain the ass. Swarro Binoculars, Swarro LRF, Kenwood TK270G Radio, GPS, Windmeter kit, two spare mags, knife, flask, cigars, handwarmers, and a pounch big enough to put in a compressable jacket and some other small items. A hydro pac as well. A backpack is out of the question, as the rifle is on a biathlon sling. As I've said, I know nothing of these vests, but they look to be a great solution.

Thanks.

R.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Without the shoulder straps and a light load the belt has been pushing on the hips causing blood flow to be restricted and makes your legs super tired!! There have been alot of people with this issue.

So get the harness they give you the added features and support the weight of the belt better.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

No, but my answers will get better!

There are no stupid questions, but I have no control over pricing. It is an elaborate formula way above my pay grade.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Would you be willing to so a group buy on these in multicam or OD, in order to get the 20 quantity you spoke of?

I Guess we could consider this a feeler, is anyone else interested in one of these in OD or Multicam...

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Bujayman,
As far as group buy, that would make it much easier. It would not affect the price, and if it was in Multicam it would be %20 more due to the MC price.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Allocine,

The Sniper Scabbard is being produced, and is currently in a bid for a military contract. As soon as that is submitted, I will make it available for the public.
That will be very soon.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

I went ahead and ordered it even though coyote brown is not what I would choose. Nicely designed piece of kit....I'll just paint it like everything else I use!

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Finally got a few minutes to put my belt system back together and add the new Hydration system.

Wow you want to talk about a great new up grade to a already kick ass piece of gear!!

The harness really allows the user to add on many more pouches and distribute the weight off the hips and onto your shoulders where it belongs.

I cant wait to get out and use it at the next match.

Great work Phil and the guys over at SOTECH.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

Have you lads got any pics of it fully bombed up?
And how many MOLLE columns wide is the belt portion? For pouch planning sakes

It would be great if someone created a software package that allowed pre-configuration of molle gear. I'd use it...man, what a pain it is to plan stuff out sometimes.

Sorry for the hijack...I used to have a SHH (not hybrid), and it was awesome kit.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

The next problem though is some comapnies in all their wisdom will have a 4 column wide pouch that "only uses 3!" because they've decided that moving the bars in from the edges lets you pack more shit on while letting it flop around and pull away from the rig. It happens alot.

But yeah, if you already have the pouches you're going to use and can lay them all out and count how many rows you need, all good.

There was a shitty paintballing website a while ago that built custom rigs, it had a flash pouch layout program that was OK but then I think people get a bit excited and put 400 pouches for crap like marsbars, spare socks and dental floss... The dickhead factor definitely comes into play!

It's good to see the 50mm webbing goes from the belt all the way up over the shoulder, eliminating stretch points and stitch failure where the webbing is terminated and the shoulder pad starts - smart. I'd probably modify it and take the twin 50mm buckles out of the front of the rig though if I got one. The amount they wont be utilised and the added gut friction / moving parts factor they'd end up in my bin. Nice to have if you're on fire / upside down / underwater or a combination of the three though

Good looking rig, the 2" top row of the belt harness too so you can attach ALICE compatible pouches might help some.

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

What model would be better to use in conjunction with a IBA/ plate carrier, the padded model or the unpadded one that has four rows of webbing all the way around?

I have a Tactical Tailor MAV vest and am thinking about getting something different. Now that I have a new job in the guard, Fister, I'm thinking I might want to adjust my gear around, maybe see about integrating the Blackhawk ASIP radio pouch. Plenty of time to think and ruminate on the topic.

96C,
Did I meet you at SHOT 09?
Met a dude from SORD, from OZ. Cool dude, but forgot the name.
I will take pics of my rig this weekend and post them. Give you a visual of what you can do with it.

Rero360,
Are you planning on running a drop down pistol? If so, the SHHH. If not, then the SHH would work fine and provide plenty of realestate for kit.
If it does not work, then you can exchange it.

We can fab them up in MC, but it would be a custom run, will take longer, unless you get 19 other dudes together...and will cost 20% more.
Let me know.

96C,
Our pouches are supported fully from the edge of the pouch. There is no swinging effect like a full cow uder, and they all have their own full space. The Flex Tabs are patented, and are rated at 600 knots in a wind tunner. Then they gave out in testing. You would easily install them, and they will stay rock solid until you swap them out. It is easy to remove and quick to reconfigure. Unlike some products, you don't need anything to unclip or install them.
So easy a Caveman could do it!

Re: SOTECH Sniper Hybrid Hydration Harness

That's me Phil, I was there at Vegas 08 SHOT - good memory man. Was in a hurry and you were busy so hopefully I'll get to have a good chat next time.
I appreciate the effort SOTech is putting into a specific sniper line, it's something I've wanted to do for a long time but haven't had the support... It shows when people don't cut corners, good work dude.
