Depends on what you need. I can't remember if Mark Novac is in North or South Carolina. He does amazing work, but generally only the stuff that interests him. So antiques, custom stocks hand carved and checkered from a blocks of wood, and mil-surp.
I'd try to get a 1903 or Mauser to him, but he's not the guy for a custom based off a 700.

Which is most of the gunsmith industry. They all seem to have their niche. Guy north of me was well known for his S&W trigger work. But he might take 5 years to do anything else fit around his preferred work.
