Hey guys, I am putting together a fun shoot the weekend after Halloween weekend, Saturday, Nov. 7. Nothing formal, up to 300 yards +/-

After Halloween, people should start selling pumkins cheap, so, whats a guy to do? Buy a bunch and blow shit up!

I should have the Premier Heritage up and running by then if any one wants to check it out.

Load up on pumkins, gords or what ever and come out. PM me if interested and I will get you directions. Looking to start shooting around 10:00 AM.

Note: in the event of inclimate weather, we will try it Sun. the 8th. I will make the call closer to the date and let everyone know.

Edit, it is officially Sunday now.

Sounds superb, wish I was there already, hopefully this will be an annal event but.....are you MO Hiders fair weather shooters, how bad can the weather be there?

Good luck all

Re: South Central Missouri Fun shoot, Sat. Nov. 7

I will shoot in just about anything, but prefer it to be nice. We have indeed had way to much rain, I am tired of it.

I don't mind shooting in the cold, much prefer it to really hot. And it can get both really cold here and really hot (I shot last year when it was 8 degrees). It can get into the single digits and into the 100's.

I don't mind shooting in rain, as long as it is not monsoon like.

I may indeed make this an annual event, never a bad reason to shoot discounted pumkins!

Well, I have to go work on the arc now...

Re: South Central Missouri Fun shoot, Sat. Nov. 7

Just a heads up, I just got a cart load of pumkins at Wal Mart for a buck a piece.

Looks like I am going to have to officially move this to Sunday the 8th (logistical reasons).

So, the official date is Sunday.

Oh man. I would love to come but my wife is ditching me with Megan (1y.o.) and taking my oldest to Ft. Leonardwood this weekend to see her new baby nephew. So it's going to be me and my little girl for the weekend, it's going to be fun.

I need to re-sight in my scope. is there a known 100 yard distance I could do that in?

I would need directions, and an address that I can put in the GPS would be great.

Not promising to be there, but the prospects are looking better.

Re: South Central Missouri Fun shoot, Sat. Nov. 7

I had a grand time, including shooting poorly enough to make sighting in difficult, getting crap in my chamber, and losing the Allen wrench to set my scope caps.

Gugubica set up a great course with water-filled pumpkins (can you say SPLOOSH!)

There were even some zombie pumpkins that just would not die, no matter how many times it was shot.

At the end, we closed the distance and did a little pumpkin carving with handguns.

Thank you, Gugubica, for a great time. It was great to meet everyone that showed up.

(I've been convinced to move out into the country.........)

I had a great time. I do have to appoligize for being disorganized. Learned a few things though.

It was a fun shoot and I got to meet some great people. Thanks for coming out, we will have to get together again soon.

DustyJ, don't sell yourself short, you were popping off some great shots!

Thanks again to everyone that came out.

Re: South Central Missouri Fun shoot, Sat. Nov. 7

I started a new thread about range vs field shooting. I learned a lot.

It wasn't disarganized. Heck part of the fun was chatting, riding out to the frames and setting targets, moving firing positions, etc.

If you ever want to build a wooden shooting platform with concrete feet, I'll be happy to help. I love the job y'all have done on that place. That house looks pretty spectacular.

My wife (from the country, in TN) has now heard my plans for moving out to the country when I find a compatible job. The daughter goes to college next year, so maybe a smaller house/cottege and a much larger 'yard' is in our future.

Thanks again. That is the most fun I've had is a long while.

Dustyjacket, I hope that dream will come true soon. Shooting in you own back yard is very hard to beat.

Yeah...sorry about the pics. Everyone that was there was busy shooting. It was kind of a test run anyway. If you promise to come to the next shoot, I promise to take some pictures!

One of the other things I forgot, but learned for next time...CAMERA...

Deer were feeding there anyway. you should have seen some of the tracks I found. Id say there going right behind the house every couple of days.

I'll have to have you come up here sometime with Shawn and I when we head out to the flats to shoot 1100-1200 yards. I have to have a different target made up though. 12x18" is a small target that far out, it was even small at 800.

Sounds like y'alls had fun out there. Maybe I can make it down for the next one.
