The email issued mentioned earlier this week is now fixed! You may also have received previous emails that were meant to be sent over the last few days - apologies, this was a one time issue and shouldn't happen again!
I've been looking all over for a 22lr trainer for some local prs style matches starting soon and can not find any factory offerings in left hand with a heavy barrel. Any other leftys in the same boat and/or found a suitable alternative?
Yeah we're pretty much short changed. I bought a CZ452 and am planning on getting a bull barrel for it. You could go anchuntz custom shop. I'm pretty happy with the CZ and half the price of the Annie. Maybe one of these days I'll get the Annie anyway.
You can buy the stock 1416 HB for about $1,100. You can get a full custom LH 64 MPR built by the Anschutz custom shop with a custom chambered heavy barrel and 2 stage trigger in a MPR stock for less than $1,900
I've heard most shops won't or can't rebarrel the 452 cz, because I was looking into the same thing. I may have just been talking to the wrong shops. The Anschutz is tempting, I'll have to do a little more digging.
Chad, (LRI) has no issue re-barreling it. I would do it myself, but I have not found gears for my lathe to handle the metric threading. Just make a parting cut at the receiver and go. I really wanted the Annie, but just didn't have the $ for it at the time.
Have you looked into which barrel you intend to use and what LRI charges to rebarrel? I'm trying to figure out whether it would make more sense to go straight with the anschutz or potentially save a little with the CZ.
I know its a sin and all, but I shoot a right handed action. Get all the looks and questions but as soon as I say; Either find a comparable lefty action or would you like to buy a lefty action, the subject changes....?
I wish we could round up enough people for a Stiller XR2500 run. They said they would make them if they could get 50 of them sold. Then I could run the same trigger that is on my Mausingfield.
Yeah I've been tempted to use a RH but it defeats the purpose of a trainer for my left handed match rifle. I talked to Anschutz this morning and the 64MPR in LH is not an option. The stiller xr2500 would be ideal but like you said that level of commitment for 50 buyers would be tough to scrounge.
That sucks about no 64MPR. I would like one of the 1416's but in a T4A stock. The CZ has will be all done once the bolt handle and mag release are dealt with. I smoothed out the mill marks where the sear rides, polished up the bolt (which I would like to flute, or fishnet) It reliably extracts and shoots. Even with the stock barrel it shoots pretty good. I would just like a Tubb T7 two stage in it, the single stage Timney is getting the job done for now.

I run a left hand PDC custom chassis for my Defiant 6.5 Creed...Craig at PDC can do the same chassis for the CZ 452. I have had the barrel cut and threaded, waiting on the chassis. If its not shooting good enough for me, I will send it to LRI for an HB. https://www.facebook.com/PdcCustom/ (my wife's rifle top left, BTW...not my calf)
What about the New Ultraight Arms rimfire action? According to the website, repeaters are $875 and single shot action is $750. Not cheap but, it appears to be an option.
