I was speaking with a fellow hide member yesterday and we got to talking about how there are no good, established places to shoot around here. Trying to find somewhere 1500+yds. anyone who knows of such a place in the s/w va region please let me know!

Let me know if you find anything, 500 yards is the farthest club range I know of.

Well not a range but a good place to shoot when Ray has get togethers, I hope he'll be having several more in the future.

I'm from Saltville. I quit my job traveling for one here at home so I have a lot more time on my hands. Been working on a place or 2 in Rich Valley where you can get to 1000. Hunting leases are getting in the way right now, might have one place available in the spring. I don't have the gear like I saw in those pictures from Ray's Fun Shoot, but I'm always looking for some new shooting buddies.

I was referring the post to the OP.

We had talked about doing some herd thinning ( with my 338 ) on a farm he has access to.

I would like to hook up with any Hide members in VA for some Groundhog shooting this coming year though.
I don't have any places of my own to offer. I get invited by a couple of friend because I have Top Shelf gear (optics mainly).

I know there a couple of people in Charlottesville area that want to shoot long range and would love to get up with like minded long range shooters in VA. The range I go to only has it out to 350 yards and that gets kind of old and unchallenging. The closest 1000 yarder is Quantico and is not that easy to go play on. If anyone hears of a place I would to go and shoot.
