Hunting & Fishing Southwest Wyoming Prairie Dog Hunting????

Has anyone been out in SouthWest Wyoming Prairie Dog hunting latley? We went out saturday and it was pretty sparce. Has anyone else seen a decline in dog populations? Usually we drop 70-100+ dogs in a day and we maybe shot 10 between 5 guys. It was ugly. We hunt out by Kemmerer. I know its taboo to share hunting grounds with others but if you have any ideas of where to go I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

BP, I have hunted extensively in that area. I have seen PD numbers decline steadily for about the last six years. Like you, we used to go up there and shoot 50-150 PD's a day between three or four of us. But they have just started disappearing, I travel through WY quite a bit for work, and have noticed there are not many dogs where there once was many. this whole corner of the state doesn't seem to have many anymore. Just last week I drove through Riverton, Lander, Green River, ect. didn't notice a single PD, and I usually look for em. Going back up to Grainger on thursday, I'll keep my eyes open for em.

I don't know much, anything really, about PD shooting in Wy and here we have Gunnisons PD's. It isn't uncommon for large towns to succumb to the plague here but I don't know if that is an issue there. We see areas that had PD's and then don't and we won't see them in any numbers in an area for a couple of years.

Is that a possibility up there?

Huh, maybe plague has moved in. The area we hunt is roughly 50 sq miles, hard to believe they just up and disappeaed without a cause. Thanks for the feedback. Its a shame that all the hunting is disappearing.
