Spam calls

More recently I've been getting texts. I can tell they're off because wrong names and from a Houston number (I have an 832 area code) or other places. Haven't lived in Houston since 2015.

Yep, 832, 346, 281 ... all spoofed I'm sure. I've heard they customize the spoofing based on your area code because people are more likely to answer an unknown from a local number.

Most of it goes to my google voice burner (home phone) number. Instead of our cell number we give that one out to everything that wants a phone number ... loyalty programs, shopping sites, etc. so it's the main one that gets passed around and picked up by scammers. Reduces the amount of spam on the cell numbers.

I can just screen the google voice number in a browser every day or so to see if it's something important.

Call blacklist app is free and works. It can be set to stop any incoming call from any number not in your contact list.

I usually only get maybe one spam number a week in my call history since they'll slowly quit calling.

I get tell anyone that may call from a new number I monitor my voicemail.

One of the Scam ass holes almost got my grand mother. Lucky the bank declined the transaction... Got the PO Box he wanted the money sent to as after the card declined he was trying to get her to send a check. She called me to come speak to him, I immediately recognized he was full of shit. He was pretending to be with Norton and she had given him access to her CPU and had locked her out of it. Did a safe mode reset and got her CPU back up but it was close... Glad the bank caught it.

any one know who to report this guy to or any one good at reverse hacking, you are more than welcome to get this cock sucker. He had the balls to call back and leave a message calling her rude after I told her to call him a scammer and hang up. People like this... Preying on an 89 year old woman...

Looking on the web, North Bay, NY, is a small town with a small post office. Maybe talking to someone at that post office about the attempted fraud using one of their boxes.

I don't know enough about how these scams work to know the best way to shut them down, but a real physical address seems a start.

On youtube, I used to watch a guy who would turn the tables on scammers who call and say there is a warrant ready to be execute to "place you under the rest," and you might to in front of the courthouse.

But you could avoid being under the rest if you got Rite Aid or Walgreens and get gift cards and read them the numbers.

Know that a number of them were if asian descent and location, he would sometimes spell out "materchod" as the code. Which would bother them.

I was getting a few calls asking me if my house was still being listed for sale. I told them the selling price was 1,000,000 dollars (I paid 65k in 2000 and the house was built in 1969. They would ask if that was how I was listing it. I said no, I was not listing it, but if they wanted to buy it, the price was $1M. This happened a few times and then they quit calling.

Just today, I get a text from an unknown number telling me prime membership has been activated and a charge of $529.83 has been made. Not you? And it gives a different number. I tried to do a reverse search and it is some kind of scam in Tennessee. I did not answer.

Next time they call, give them your best elderly Asian lady impression. Whatever they ask, tell them about your latest bowel movements. If they ask another question tell them you would like sex with them. Then say you must use bathroom now.

They never call back.
Shit.

If I get a live person that’s enjoyable

Telling them pak is gonna nuke their street shitting asses and then the calls will stop or talking about their female relations , both gets them angry quick

I like to tell them that I eat with my left hand. This works for muslims for sure, as well as other cultures who view the left hand is only for cleaning the body.

Of course, we have the modern invention of soap and hand sanitizer. But don't let that get in the way of a bit of fun.

And, I eat cows.

Anyone else start getting hammered the last week or 2?

It’s like the Indians found another abandoned call center. But these sound like Mexicans and other associated turds.

If you have a business you have to answer your calls. These spammers need a spot on the gallows next to thieves
From what I hear...what I have been told....
If you don't make 1-900 calls, you don't get SPAM phone calls.

Got a spam call today claiming it was Chase Bank, let the asshole run his BS script and in the middle of it
I said wait hold on, where are you calling from I smell curry on your breath.

Asshole needed a few seconds to digest it then mumbles what and hangs up.

Getting at least 30-40 of these things per day. My guess is this is due to the medicare breach awhile back. You should be able to sue for this crap by companies that don't take the steps to avoid these breaches. They are happening with many outfits that handle your private information.
I thought congress passed a law on this crap.............Ya Know!!

We get solicitation calls at work and I have a few different responses.

"Are you needing help with your shipping logistics?"

I reply, "No, but thanks for asking." And then I hang up.

Another time, someone wanted to speak to someone in charge of the phone accounts. I never pass those on. If the boss wants a company, he finds them. One time, this guy asked if I could look to make sure the boss was not in.

I replied in my best version of James Doohan as engineer Scotty from "Star Trek."

"I cannot do it, Captain. I don't have the power!"

He replied. "So, are you just a secretary."

I said, "No, not really. But I do look good in this dress."

He laughed and wished me a good day.

Other times, I will not hear someone speaking so, I will say,

"Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?"

Be creative.

Here is a prime example of when you just take the Direct Approach to fucking Spam on the Cell .
It seems the Bot programed into these mass spam mailings picks-up on the ..." Fuck Off ". and I have seen this several times now on my phone. here is one from this morning.

Help her file a report here:

Likely won't do much to catch the actual scammer if overseas, but enough reports about same PO box or bank account can lead them to the local money mule doing the pick up.
