I'd like opinions on my rifle. It's a Spanish Santa Barbara C.75 308 rifle, based on a Mauser 98 action, sporster barrel, with Fajen stock, Warne 2-piece base, Burris XTR rings and Bushy 3200 Mil-Dot 5-15x40. This rifle was Spanish Army sniper rifle. Anyone else using it? Cheers.-

Re: Spanish Santa Barbara poor sniper's rifle

From what I could find on the C75, it is a basic Military/Police counter sniper rifle similar to many that were being produced in the 70's - that is, either a "sniper-ized" military rifle, like the British L42's or a "militarised" sporter rifle like the Parker Hale Mauser-based rifles.

Performance should be on par with any other Mauser-based system. Bedding the action in the stock and making sure the barrel is free-floating should keep things nice and tight. A good trigger is a must. I would only suggest swapping the two-piece bases for a one-piece rail.

Go shoot it..., a lot.

Thanks, Dmann. You're right is a kind of Parker Hale, in fact I've heard Parker Hale sold this rifle in UK much more expensive than in Spain. I'll free-float the barrel, and I'll try to post a pic... More opinions please! Take care.-
