How do you go about finding a gas block by set screw spacing. I'm replacing the hand guard and gas block on a dpms barrel that has been dimpled and the set screw spacing is something less than .400"., which seems to be pretty common. I need to find a gas block with that spacing or something wider, like .500", so I can dimple outside the existing dimple.. I know I can get by with one set screw, but tqo would be better. I could also pin the gas block, but I don't want to buy another tool just to do one barrel.

The hole for the gas tube is in the same position above the center of the bore on all gas blocks. The low profile description fits when compared to a FSB. Have you tried what you have inside your new handguard?
I forgot to order a lo-pro gas block when I took the crap off my DPMS. One of those silly picatinny rail blocks. I'm 99% sure There was only a dimple on the back screw. The front screw was just a self-setting one that made a little mark in the barrel when torqued.
I took an angle grinder and made that bitch fit under the handguard. Little sharpie action and you can't tell since I went to a 13" on a carbine gas system.
Most all my other AR's wear clamp-on blocks from Superlative Arms. Best adjustable gas block I've found. I'll never dimple, or pin, anything ever again as the clamp works and has nothing disrupting the barrel.
