Night Vision Specs on McCann SIRS

I am wondering if somebody could tell me what the diameter of the hole for the barrel in the McCann SIRS is? I need something with a 1.25" diameter for the barrel and when I call McCann the woman who answers the phone is extremely difficult to deal with. The extent of her technical knowledge is "It will accommodate a medium size barrel, but maybe not a really big one". I don't know what that means and she can't add definition to what she means and won't transfer me to somebody who can get past their empowered woman status and actually be useful.

Also, somebody who has one of these, if the hole is not 1.25", does it look like there might be enough material to machine it to that diameter?

I had the same experience with that same lady, who is also the owner, debbie mccann. She should have the technician,s answer the call,s.

I have this mount, if you have a regular taper tactical style barrel then it will fit, but if you have a straight (no taper) barrel then no it will not fit. It was designed to fit M40/MTU taper barrels and smaller, hope this helps?

Hogstooth, are you able to get a measurement of the diameter of the hole in it? Does it appear to have enough material to be able to machine it to 1.25"?

I'm not familiar with the barrels you listed. My barrel does taper, but it starts out 1.25" and ends 30" later at 1".

Not trying to ask a stupid question but have you considered the McCann MIRS mount instead? It will probably work with your contour

Leprechaun, do you know how the MIRS attaches to the rifle? Does it only attach to the action?
