No loads fror the speer 52g hp flat base (varmint) and cfe223 found.

1000 on way and that is the powder I have so any experience would help.

I have found seirra 53g load data with a matching profile using cfe223.

I can't see 1g of bullet to be a big thing?

    Are you talking 223?
I ran tests from 25 to 27 with them using CFE223 and KVB primers in a WOA Varmint upper and had no issues.
I didn’t make a bunch of them cause I had better luck with VMax and Sierra, but the CFE223 was very user friendly.

    Yes 223 carbine 16inch 1/8.

Haven't got to my books uet but know there are 53g bullets listed.

Not sure why I would worry about a 2% bullet weight differance with same profile.

    Shows inexperience I guess. Lol

Have not been happy with Hornady 55g's and my son brought 1000 of these home.

Thinking my barrel might like this profile better than the spire points?

These look like smk's that worked well with ? 26.5 cfe.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the info.
Most shooting with these will be out to 200yd maybe some to 400.

Long distance not a requirement .
Plan on just enough powder to get them to group.

Using picked over and carefully prepared range brass and then finish on the dillon.

The first tests up to 27g with cfe223 and the speer 52g were pretty lackadaisical.

Then decided to go 27.3 to 28.5 listed for 53g bullets.

This test was at 50 yd warm, fouled barrel and moderate rate of fire, not much cooling off.

    Brass was unsorted range brass.
    Powder was trickled.

I think there is a flat spot from 27.3 to 27.6.
Next try will be 27.0 - 27.6 in .2 increments.

Group buddy gave me a 1.33 moa on the 27.3 load.

These are my foulers, pmc 55g

And for a refrance these were all shot from my most exquisite supper dupper 139$ ar stoner 16 inch barrel.

Yes the matching headstamps made it all better.
The seating depth did little with a slight improvement.

I don't think I can squeeze more out of this progressive load but not bad.

My can was loosing on every fifth shot producing an exact shift each time.

I need to lapp the mount maybe I will get a tighter group and hopefully eliminate the flier.

I was going to hold off posting till I got it corrected but where's the joy in that.

Edit: picture labled wrong this was a 50 yard range and moa is double at 1.16 I deleated the wrong picture.

    Was all cfe223.

My flyer's on each group were accounted to the can loosening up.

It started out a random range brass attempt, changed to headstamp sorted.

Moving coal from 2.200 to 2.220 improved group but 2.225 - 2.250 in 0.005 incraments did little else.

At 2.250 I got vertical string.

These were shot with a warm to very warm barrel as if plinking but way short of mag dumps.

I think for economy not a bad load for short range ar.
