Spotting Scope Add ons

Just purchased a Bushnell Legend T and was wondering a few things.

Why do people put ir laser devices on it?
Is there any issues putting a cosine indicator on a spotting scope?

Ive never seen a laser on a spotting scope but I would assume it is to line up the scope as it is sometime hard to find your target through the scope without a secondary pointer\sighter. no issue with a cosing on a scope if you want it.

To help them see things better at night at long range, not being snarky, that's basically the reason. You can also see "trace" with the IR illuminator.
