I'm looking for some direction on a camera that will link to a tablet or laptop via USB or Bluetooth. The purpose is to see my impacts at longer ranges when shooting alone.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated

You need a camera with a BT or Wifi connection to the tablet or phone. The bigger hassle is a mount that actually works with the spotter.

For all the love phoneskope gets I tried their mount for a GoPro on a Leupold spotter and it sucked hard. Wound up buying the Leupold digiscope adapter, much better mount.

You can then record and view via WiFi through the spotter. So my advice is, find a good mount designed to work specifically with your spotter.

I know little to nothing about it . but there is a cheap adapter that could fit on the spotting scope that you could attach your smart phone with that allowes video that way and you would not have to look through your spotting scope to see images just your phone

I've been thinking about getting a phoneskope. I didn't realize they could attach to spotters as well. Why didn't you like about it? Did you try it on a normal rifle scope?

I use a phonescope with a gopro 5black. You have to play a little with the settings and tweaking your scope, but it lets me setup on the target and have my iPad next to me resting against my bag. No more up and down to the scope.

I use the Novagrade adapter for my phone. It is very well built and works great.
If you have a samsung phone and tablet the side kick app will allow you to control your phone using your tablet and whatever your phone's camera is looking at will be displayed on your tablet. Not sure if sidekick works with anything else besides samsung.
There was a review of the Novagrade adapter on rockslide forum.

if you have both a tablet and a phone, or two phones, just get a phone mount for your scope and a remote control app. Its cheap, the video is very high quality on newer phones and can sometimes be upgraded with 3-party apps. Best of all you can place the control device where ever you want.
Also if you were using phones, and had a good enough data connection (big if) you could potentially set one up as a remote camera.
