Spotting scope info

I’m looking at spotting scopes and need some user input. For my use, they may not even be feasible. So here is my situation. I’m wanting a system that would allow me to see 6.5 hits at 550+. My shooting is off a bench or a rest and would not be used in the field or for hunting. I’m looking at the Swaro ATX 85 and the Kowa TAN-88. Would these be capable of picking up 6.5 holes at the ranges I’m looking for? If so, can you actual users give me your thoughts on the two mentioned. I’ve visited with the folks at Cameraland and they are very high on both. What say you guys? Thanks any input you can give me.

You might want to consider a camera system like longshot. 6.5mm holes are hard to see at 600 under good conditions. Add some mirage or dust and no luck.

What's your experience with seeing little holes in paper at 550?
Well I guess not a ton but not zero either. But my eyes aren’t the same as they used to be. Your mileage may vary. But the original
Post said 550+ so what’s your experience at the plus part?

It’s hard to differentiate little holes at range even with the best spotter. I’m not saying it can’t be done I’m just saying it’s not easy. But all this is subjective. It might be easier for you so take what I said with a grain of salt as you should anything on the interwebs.

Ive spotted holes at 500 but I find the paper makes a bigger difference than the glass once you get above a reasonable threshold.
Super white paper tends to wash out the holes, a duller softer paper shows the contrast better. Having a backer helps contrast as well so you see the shadow of it in the hole vs the clear sun shining straight through the white paper.
