I just bought this Springfield 1922 M2 and realized that magazines were tough to come by. And I have read that the M1 and M2 magazines
are NOT interchangeable. I took a chance and bought a M1 magazine to see If It was something that I could alter in the mag to make it work.
I found it to work flawlessly as purchased. My SN is 2259B and the B indicates that it has been through all of the arsenal modifications.
My magazine was a repro and from comparing to the photos from the seller, I was nearly certain that it would work prior to ordering it.
The are sold on eBay and Gun Broker thru Joes Pawn. So you may be able to get more mags for your M2 that work.
My next project is to manufacture a scope rail that doesn't drill into the receiver but uses the rear sight screws and the barrel diameter
as a place for some sort of saddle to rest. The saddle area will most likely have N50 magnets in it to hold it to the bbl. securely.
The rear screws should keeps it's location locked in place.
