hello everyone!

my father, a decorated Nam vet, recently passed away.. 😔

he left me his firearm collection and one of those Is a rifle I'm trying to get information on.

it accepts m14 mags, it came with 12 of them, 2 are m14 magazines and I'm unsure of the others.

Its 7.62x51 obviously and has less than 100 rounds through it. he bought it still wrapped in grease and wax paper at a little gun store where he lived about 12 years ago.

Any information is greatly appreciated. this rifle will never ever be sold, but any guesses on total value would be cool to know also 😀

Thank you everyone!

Looks like a Garand, its modified to accept an M14 magazine. Gas cylinder is Garand, not BM59. Doesn't look like a Shuff's Parkerizing conversion either. There were a few shops doing conversion in the 1980's and 90's. Here's a BM59 mag to compare to:

it's. 308 too not 30-06

A number of Garands were converted to BM 59's before SA in Geneseo started impotrting them in the late 80'sor early 90's. I owned 2 of them (now long gone) the Alpine and standard versions which have different magazines than the M14/M1A's. Still have an original BM59 mag somewhere.
