I have a friend who is wanting to sell a Springfield Armory scope that he had mounted on a M1A that he has sold. I do not know anything about the scope. The info i wrote down after i checked it out is as follows. The scope says Springfield Armory goverment model 4x14x56 Japan on the housing where you adjust the magnifacation. It is matt black and has a adjustable objective that reads 50 to 1200 then a infinity sign with a m after it. Appears to be a 30mm tube size. It is a FFP scope with no alumination and caps that screw on over the turrets that read 1/4 MOA The retical is a cross with 3 & 5 off to the left side and 4 off to the right with the numbers in a caption 6,7,8,9,10 in the center going to the bottom. The scope appears to be in real good shape with the exception of some scope ring marks and some wear on the caps of the windage and elevation caps. I did notice a small scratch about 1/8 of an inch in the front glass near the center. Other than that the glass was in good shape. I did look through it and it did not affect anything and everything worked great. Are these scopes any good and what would the value be on these. It is mounted in some GG&G double screw rings that look pretty tall and the Springfield Armory mount that is used to mount i guess to the side of the receiver. Not sure if i want the setup but would like to know what it is worth for what he has. He does not know what it is worth either because his son got it when he was a Ranger in the Army and gave it to him on leave. Any help from you guys would be helpful. Thanks...DAN..........
