I recently acquired a rifle that was being sold as a springfield 1922 m2. I quickly realized that this wasnt the case but bought it anyway. Im hoping someone can tell me what I have. My thought is a frankenrifle but we shall see. First off the bolt is indeed an m2 bolt and appears to be as it should be. Its stamped NS and M2 and has a serial number etched onto the bolt. The barrel is a 1in bull and unmarked. Stock is well done and unmarked but not original. The receiver however is very different from what it should be. Its missing the mag cutoff and a hump on the front receiver ring. Its also a split bridge receiver. Bolt release is a plunger on the left side. Trigger is a very light single stage. Also the receiver seems to have never been a repeater. The rifle is a single shot with a solid receiver bottom. Its shaped similar to an 03 but seems a bit more sleek. Here are some pics. Any ideas? 20180908_141217.jpg20180908_142828.jpg20180908_142618.jpg
