I have a Springfield 3rd Gen. 4-14x56 laying around, i am awaiting my POF P308 to arrive. Im by no means a precision shooter, infact this is both my first long range rifle. First High powered rifle. I was wondering if this scope would be sufficent or if i should look into a Leupold or Nightforce, or just upgrade later? Thanks.

I don't know anything about the scope but if it will hold zero than it will work for now and let you get some good practice in. Zero it for whatever range you will be practicing at, say 100,200 or 300. Then read a lot of "how to" threads here about shooting and get some practice.

When you do go to get a new scope, put in the time to read up on what you are thinking about getting.

There is a search engine for this site under the Shout Box on the right hand side of the screen, use it a lot. You can enter just about anything and come up with at least a few threads about it on here. Good luck

If you can afford it, this site offers full online training videos that are more detailed versions of those clips.
I think the membership is around $125. I could use it myself and plan on joining soon.

Eventually a class somewhere like Rifles Only would be nice.

If you have the money to spend, and you don't mind spending it, you will not be the least disappointed if you decide to purchase a NightForce NXS. If you're not ready to spend that much ($1400+), some good deals can be had in the Optics For Sale forum such as the SWFA Super Sniper 5-25x for $1200 or less, amongst others.
