My wife was away visiting family this last weekend so I took the opportunity to chill out with some tunes and work on this ghillie blanket till the wee hours of the morning. I had the Spyder Mesh and random jute sitting around for a few years and never made use of it until now. My goal was to make a compact/lightweight cover for either my equipment, or myself. The whole blanket will fit into a small stuff sack about the size of a Nalgene bottle.

I think it could potentially melt since it's made from a cotton/poly blend but you'd have to get your barrel pretty freaking hot to do that. Under normal bolt action rate of fire I think it would be fine.
