Looking for some feedback on these two rifles or if there is another option I should be looking at. I would assume the knights is top notch, just wondering if the price difference between that and the DD mk12 is worth it in the real world. I am not looking for an actual mk12 clone or anything like that, it does not bother me that the DD says Mk12 but is not a real Mk12.

I plan on putting a Nightforce 2.5-10 C462 on the rifle.

Is there a significant difference between the first gen lpr with the front sight integrated into the handguard and the newer generations? Does gen 1 have the improved bolt?

Was gen 1 a straight gas tube? Is the gas system a difference an average user would notice? There is a gen 1 for 1850 for sale somewhere and a gen 2 for sale for 2200. If the handguards both free float the barrel I prefer the look of the first gen

I suppose just because it has a 18" barrel wouldnt make it a LRP, actually I just realized the upper on it says sr15 e3, would a mod 1 say LPR Mod 1 or something else?

Whatever you get I'd get the one with the most updates. I like the URX 2/3 also but the newer ones in the URX4 tubes are the nicer rifles with all the updates. And really those URX4's are better handguards. Certainly a lot lighter and easier and cheaper to work on.

The LPRs I've seen have said SR-15e3 LPR. That being said, only the LPRs have 18" barrels. The mod 1 LPRs had really thick barrels, 1" straight to the gas block. Do you have any pictures?

I really don't think the LPRs ever came with the URX3 (integrated front sight) and thought the uppers were marked LPR. Any chance this is a parts gun?

Hmm. I'm going to have to defer to a KAC experts on that one. I really didn't think the LPRs came with that handguard. Although I'm second guessing myself on what they say on the side. I'd look at mine but the wife sleeps with it next to her head and I don't want to wake her.

Mmmm, LPR goodness...

While Knight’s has had many prototypes and at times let some very unique configurations out the door over the years, that one listed is not an 18” variant. It’s a standard 16” E3 mod 0. Handguard is the mid length URX.

I've got 2 LPRs currently. They are mighty fine rifles. Definitely a step above DD in my opinion. Shameless plug, I've got a lpr upper for sale in the classifieds right now on the cheap if interested.
