As I am getting into reloading for precision rifle I managed to get few hundred SRP Lapua brass and primers but wondering if I should try to get LRP instead (as Lapua recently released LRP version and I can trade primers). Any significant advantages of one vs the other or largely a matter of preference?

Thank you

I'm anxious to hear the answer to this one as well. I have been shooting the SRP Lapua brass for a bit now. I got my hands on a box of the Lapua LRP Brass and loaded them up with the load I have worked up for the SRP brass. Anxious to see the point of impact difference.

LRP has a significant advantage, if you have ignition problems with SRP. If you don't have ignition problems, then SRP has more material in the case head, and can take more abuse before primers pockets stretch out. If you aren't running over pressure you will probably never stretch out the pockets is Lapua LRP.

Ball powders in cold temps with mild primers, you might have issues with SRP. Otherwise, don't worry about it. SRP theoretically can tolerate higher pressures.

Right now I'd give the edge to which ever primer you have more of on hand. I have more LRPs than SRPs, so using LRP brass. This being said there are some good arguments for SRP brass over LRP brass:
SRP brass primer pockets last longer, has more material in the case head (smaller pocket, smaller hole)
SRPs tend perform with more consistency than LRPs (less primer, less room for inconsistency)
