Rifle Scopes steiner m5xi 3-15x50 Issue

Howdy all,

I have a steiner m5xi 3-15x50 that I received about 5 months ago that is having issues with the magnification lever. It has gotten wet a few times now and after sitting in the safe for about a week after its last use the magnification lever/adjustment has become a b**** to turn. Has anyone had the same issues with this?

My best guess is that something on the inside of the mag adjustment rusted up a bit, but there is no outer indication of that. I do take care to wipe down my kit after it gets wet, but it never occurred to me that water could have seeped into that area of the scope.

It does seem like a long shot that moisture would be an issue. Between stainless parts and Steiner's many years of experience selling to the military market, it seems like they would have that figured out.

Having said that, I'm afraid I dont really know what it could be. Seems like a call to Steiner would be the best route.
