Hunting & Fishing Steyr Prohunter replacement stock?

I have a 7mm-08 Pro-hunter that shoots lights out with 160 grain Accubonds. It has became one of my favorite hunting rifles. I love the factory magazines. I don’t care so much for the stock - although it hasn’t really given me any trouble. I’d like a stock that is a little more rigid that I could put a bipod rail for my Atlas on the front.

Any idea who makes a stock that would fit this rifle?

I see that Boyds make a stock for the steyr. Anyone have an opinion on them?

The new GRS Warg synthetic stock might be a good answer. Check the website and see if they are doing an inlet to suit your rifle.

McMillan will still make a ProHunter stock I believe.

I didn’t realize that McMillan would do it - that would be perfect. Do you think they could inlet for the factory magazines?

They’ll do a magazine. The last time I ordered in 2018, it was around five months for a full custom order.

5 months isn’t bad at all. My steyr shoots great, just have to decide if I’m going to upgrade it or spend more/move up to a custom/semi-custom rifle. This gives me a lot to go on though.

I had a couple of prohunters that shot way beyond their paygrade and had the one of the best two stage triggers I'd ever used....but sold them because of after market support.....They were shooters though.... sometimes I wished I had kept one or two....
