Gunsmithing Steyr Scout trigger adjustment

What's wrong with the factory trigger? Both Scouts that I've owned have had nice triggers. If you really want to adjust it why not get in touch with Fr. Frog and get the instructions from him? He's a nice guy, I corresponded with him via email years ago when I was trying to find a Scout in 376.

Nothing wrong with the factory trigger, but I would prefer to have a lighter pull if I had the choice. I have of course tried to send Fr. Frog an email but never got a reply. I see that it has been quite some time since he updated the webpage and that is the reason why I posted the question here.

Btw: Got one in 376, with a single set trigger, as well. Took me a while to get hold of.

He's still going, if you jump to his main page he has updates dated this month. Just keep trying I guess, he noted that he gets 250 emails a day.

The 376 is a great caliber, too bad they didn't market it well.

Did you go through with the adjustment or mod was21? Let me know if you find the description.

Have you guys supressed or put brakes on your 376's? Have a rather big supressor on for use here at home but use a muzzle brake abroad. Both takes away a lot of the kick but I never found a suitable brake and ended up with a half ass solution based on a heavily modified .223 muzzle brake.

I didn't do either...trigger is fine.
Some of the early guns we were running could use a little tuning but after Steyr made a couple of tweaks there was no need. Been running them since they first came out...got to shoot the Colonel's.

Still looking for my stack of printouts....I 'think' they survived the fire!?
FWIW
YMMV

Hoped it would be simple and reversible so that I could play around a little and see if I got an improvement. I should probably leave it alone since no one else has tried. Shot the 308 alongside a 280 ai 700 w/ jewell trigger at the range yesterday. Had half the group size with the scout that weighs half of the other gun. Think I should put my effort into fixing things that don't work rather than things that do.

Say hi to Jeff from me the next time you see him. Big fan.

BTW: found an old pic of the brake. Compact but could be more efficient. Again, fix things that don't work.....
mod Holland 223 brake for 376
