I have a SSG with a Swavorski 6x42 in Steyr rings. I wanted to switch to a Super Sniper MOA/MIL, so I ordered the Steyr 30 mm rings. When I got it all dialed in I found that the rings were too high and I couldn't keep a solid/consisten cheek weld to the gun.
Now I'm looking at a set of Talley rings and a rep tells me they are .650" from contact point with the reciver to the bottom scope cradle. I've compaired the measurment to the ring height on the Swavorski and its pretty close. Now my question to you guys is; should I go with the Talley rings and hope for the best or go with the U.S. Optics picitanny rail and have the smith drill and tap the reciver for it?
