Hi,

I topped my SSG69 with a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-20x50 and tried today. With the Z-1000 reticle on the Zeiss scope, I need to 'raise' the muzzle to fully utilize this reticle's potential. That means, I need a scope mount with 20 MOA taper

I did some searches on the Hide, and found several posts on USO's 20 MOA mount. People seem to like it but it requires drilling 4 holes on the receiver (ooch!)

Steyr sells a 20 MOA mount (made by Talley?) I have not yet found any post with feedback on Steyr's mount. So, here I am soliciting anyone's experience with it. It is aluminum and does not seem to require drilling as I understand

TIA

Re: Steyr SSG69 20 MOA scope mount options

It is my understanding that the receiver rails of an Steyr SSG are 20 MOA. It seems to me that is you used picatinny rail mount sold by PJA Investment's the rail would be at a 20 MOA cant. It also requires no drilling. Refer also to Snipershide forum member Carajou dated 02-14-2011 Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 P1 and P11 - 20 MOA rails.

I've used one the one sold by Steyr USA. I never had any problems with it. Once I got the thing on I doubt I would ever be able to get it off. I don't think it required any drilling but did have set screws.

Yes, indeed, the Steyr Mannlicher SSG P1 and P11 rifles do have 20 MOA receiver rails, as confirmed by Mr Oliver Bauer, Sales Manager at Steyr Mannlicher, GmbH.

Just like Dagger wrote earlier, you may check up by yourself my last post, dated 02-14-2011, about it.
