I will be taking a foundation course and would appreciate any useful input.
I have several stock /barreled action combos for my barreled action: A more traditional, manners style stock (rifle comes in at ~11.5 lbs), a krg xray (no add'l weights, i want to say is ~12.0 lbs) and then the Xray with weights coming in 18.0+ lbs.
all things being equal, the heavier rifle will mask some weaknesses in a person's shooting. So I have narrowed my choices down to the stripped KRG and the manners style stock.
On one hand, i will likely stick to the krg for shooting (LOP adjusted to me, butt pad canted, cheek piece adjusted), but there is a personal desire to simply master the traditional manners style. So my choices are the stripped down xray fitted to me or the traditional stock. I also believe shooting the traditional style stock takes a bit more solid technique , the combination of balance, weight, etc.
what are your thoughts on which stock would be most beneficial to use during the course with my goal of a solid means to an end and not simply the end.
