Not wanting to start a full blown Manners v McMillan thread!!! Only curious about the durability of the outer shell between both manufacturers.
Prepping to buy either an A5 or T4A. Still undecided. I have a Grayboe Renegade and it has a few minor chips and dings on it from hunting where the outer material falls off and a literal chunk is missing.
I have seen pictures of used T4A's for sale on Armlist and other sites and the sides/underside of the stock will have similar chips or chunks missing like my Grayboe does. Makes me wonder about the outer durability of the stock only because I have seen that.
I have never seen a chip or chunk missing on a McMillan but that does not mean it doesn't happen.
Is there a general consensus on which stock is less prone to chip? I know I will get annoyed spending $1,300 on a stock just to have it chip on a barricade or after some hard hunting use.
Thanks
