Building a new bolt gun around a ARC mausingfield. I have been dead set on getting a foundation exodus. I want a more traditional stock with adjustable cheek piece and I like the traditional wood appearance of the micarta on the foundation. If I go that route I will have to wait a few more to build up some funds which is fine. Some have said get a krg bravo until able to get a foundation then sell the bravo. Other than manners PRS1 (Which I would have to trade off not having the wood apppearance) I haven’t really seen anything else of there that’s interested me stock wise. I did find a thread comparing manners and foundation. Neither really received anything negative. What would y’all do? Anything else on the market I’m missing?

I love my Manners - new 300 PRC build coming with a PRS1 and have a PRS2 on another.

If I went the manners route I would have to get a bravo since manners I hear is a 6-9 month weight time. Does your prs1 have manners mini chassis?

My PRS1 was not the mini chassis (neither of them), but my PRS1 is for a long action, and they don't make a mini chassis in LA.

As for timing, Manners has recently improved their process. It was ordered at the end of November, and it arrived about a month ago, so about 4.5 months. With that said, Altus gets Manners stocks in regularly and you can call them to hold one for you in the camo pattern you want - OR - just buy one in the pattern they have on hand. Right now they have a number of them available in both the mini chassis and base stock.

You can't go wrong with the Foundation.
Fabulous design and top shelf manufacturing. It would prolly be worth it to just wait a bit longer to save up the difference and get the Exodus.

If you want at traditional wood "look", there is also the molded in McWoody and McWalnut that McMillan can mold into any of their stocks.
Below is an example of that molded in finish.

I have a exodus and a manners t6a, had a genesis, and have had numerous manners t4a....they are all good. Not gonna lie though, I love the exodus. The foundations have won my heart over. Happen to run into John Kyle at clays cartridge co match in March and guy is unbelievably down to earth.

But, can't go wrong with either. Both good. I had a bravo for a short time also, but just wasn't for me. Just didn't feel as solid as the other two.

Thinking I’m just going to wait it out and get a exodus. What bottom metal do you have? Going back and forth between kmw mk1 and Hawkins

My brother ran into that same issue and was on a budget. More talent than free cash so he built his own instead of buying. Designed and made his own adjustable check piece hardware in his garage, laminated a few pieces of maple and walnut, had an aluminum bedding block installed and quite a few hours of work later he produced something that was well within his budget, but so much nicer than something just bought. I’m a bit jealous and inspired to do the same.

FYI.....There is a Gen II version of the Mk1 with a new feature being released on or before June 15th. There will also be a new M5 inlet DBM bottom metal with the same feature released at the same time.

Ok awesome can’t wait to see it. Will the mk1 gen 2 how the same footprint inlet as the gen 1? Just wondering Incase I decided to order an exodus if I needed to wait until after its release if the inlet is different. Thanks!

The "footprint" of the inlet is the same but there is one small relief detai deeper into the stock.
John Kyle may have the inlet programmed already. I know they have been really busy so not sure.
He was given one of the beta test samples several weeks ago. Send them an email and ask.
