I have an old rem 700 in 300 winmag that I am looking to do a little upgrading. As it sits right now, my barrel is touching the stock pretty far up and so I was going to start there so that I do not loose accuracy as the barrel heats up. Most of my shooting is hunting in the field and I also like to hit the range and shoot paper. My 300 is my carry gun when walking through the woods as well, so I am looking for something with a lighter stock. I was thinking about one of the xlr stocks, but i am not sure how i will like the pistol grip on a hunting rifle. Any suggestions? Price really isn't an issue.
