Stock Options for Remington 700 SA.

Looks like the trigger upgrade will be first, then perhaps a quality bipod (still haven't made my mind up on that one).

I know the major stock players are, AICS, McMillian, B&C, HS Precision, McRees Precision, Manners and Choate Machine. Are there any others that I'm missing.

I'd also like to know what you guys use, have tried and didn't like etc. Pics would be cool. Currently, my rifle is bedded into a HS Precision take off from a 5r.

I've had hs....McMillan...and choate...liked them all....really depends on your budget.....

But I love the feel of the XLR chassis....they are also the cheapest in the long run

I went with a McMillan M40 stock on my 700 AAC SD...so much better. In addition to the barrel free-floating, it also feeds from the internal magazine much better due to the greater rigidity of the new stock.

Most of mine have McMillan A5s, but I do have one rifle with a Manners T4A and it's an excellent stock.

Also have an old (2007 build LE rifle) HS Precision HTR with the HS adjustable stock, but after lots of rounds and lots of use the cheekrest keeps getting loose.

If the AI chassis fits your grip and feels good, it might be a good choice for you, otherwise I'd suggest McMillan or Manners.

I realize that a HS precision stock isn't in the same league as a Manners or McM, but your setup is pretty tight as is. Have fun with it!

All listed are great choices, but deciding if you want a traditional or chassis system would help. If you want to shoot this rifle forever you can have a traditional stock bedded, but chassis are interchangeable for the 700 footprint action. Budget is also a concern, having bottom metal and action bedded can cost a bit of money. Most chassis don't require bedding. Really it all comes down to preference. Shoot as many different ones as you can, it will help. I am partial to the Manners and AICS. Good luck, there are many options, and this is a good thing.

I run a McMillan a3 and absolutely love it. But purpose of use is important, I find my a3 a little bulky in a box stand but I still wouldn't have it any other way

I was at the same point you were a few months ago. I have used a MCM A4....Alright, AI AICS....don't like, Manners T4.....love. Its all preference. I am going to try out a Manners T5 next time. Also don't forget the KMW Sentinel

There's also the JAE700, though it's a long lead time....
