Stock options for savage 116

I just traded a dpms ar for a savage model 116 in 338 win mag. I have never been a savage shooter. I am a Remington 700 guy. Anyway I have searched the web for days looking for upgrades. No luck. I first want to get rid of the flimsy accustock. All I can find is hogue and choat. What's up with that? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was in the same boat a while back. I chose to go with the Choate A2 as an interim solution. It has performed as expected, but is somewhat on the heavy side. Finally I decided to spring for a Manners T2 in coyote tan. It has not arrived yet, but I cant wait to drop my savage into its new home.

I went stockade, I ordered my stocks a while ago and should be in in a week, I can't wait to see how they are.

As youve already found out, there isn't much available ready to ship unless you want a laminate. I used a choate until my A5 was done. I'll be ordering a MCS T1 this week for my new project. Good luck.

http://www.whiddengunworks.net/beddingblockbuynow.html With some work,You can fit it to alot more choices..I used one on a Rem.varmint special in.223 with great results. Just ordered the long action for my Sav.110..to be put in a Target mdl. stock.
