The first thing I'm going to ask, is about the 'accuracy' of this link? Since there are no names actually stated, is there any way to actually verify this story?

This because "we all trust the media, don't we?" Just the same as "we trust all writers/storytellers to be accurate", aren't they?

I'm not slamming the OP or the link. I'm just asking if there is any way to prove "that which has been written onto the innerwebz" is not hyperbole?

Agreed. We need to be hyper vigilant on all news stories. The possibility of bad actors stirring the pot with false stories is a real threat. Due diligence my brothers.

For what this is worth, this was linked to another site and someone in the comments said their neighbor drove past as this was happening and asked what was going on. Obviously they were ignored, not even recognized. And again, this is coming second or third hand from a comment section but it’s something

If the article is accurate this is the evolution of Red Flag laws. If the Doe's are found "innocent" then what will happen to the ex-girlfriend that filed the restraining order? Most likely nothing. It is weird that an ex in NC filed a restraining order for a fellow that is now married and living half way across the country. Some of the details seem to not be adding up.

IMO, I think our media would jump on shit like this in a F'n heartbeat, just to sow fear to the non-compiler's, that this is what's in store for future reference. Reading that article, I would have thought that would have been National News. Something just doesn't add up. Mac

There are members here from that area, Ive pm'd with some of them. Shouldnt be that hard to confirm as to the truth of the matter.

I didn't hear anything of it when it happened. I have a few friends who had a table at the Kalispell gun show this weekend, so if anything actually happened, people should be talking about it there. I'll ask.

I live in the Flathead Valley. It didn’t hit local papers or local news coverage, or the local FB groups. Small accidents get reported on the local FB groups and any type of news is reported around here. A lot of the time the local news reporte. It would have been the talk of the town. We had a local gun show over the weekend. It would have been the MAIN topic of conversation. Nothing has been said. I have had two different people tell me they heard about this and it all gets linked back to that one news article. LGS haven’t said anything.

it either got buried quick or just didn’t happen.

this is our police blotter. It’s exciting here.
