Curious, why is the rail so high? (where the scope mounts)

Its positioned relatively the same height as the scope system used on the XM2010 / M24E1 Enhanced Sniper Rifle Weapon System. Scope on the M24E1 is using the Badger Ordinance 306-54 rings. We chose to use the Larue OBR mount due to the QD capabilities.

Below is a photo of the XM2010 / M24E1 as shown on the wikipedia site under the title of XM2010. You can see the height of the scope and ring combo using the Badger Ordinance rings.

Regarding the system that will accomidate the Rem. 700 short action. Is it drop in? In other words, is there anything to do other than just bolt the barreled action in place? Last, does this system come with a magazine?

The chassis is ready to recieve a barreled 700 short action. Action will drop in. Also the chassis uses the AICS magazine which is available seperately. Chassis will accept AICS 5 or 10 rd .308 mags.

For Flat Dark Earth / TAN or Black its a pretty quick turn around time and I would think within the next few weeks if you were to order now.

Is there any intention of releasing the something similar to the LWRACS? I like the cadex, but I would prefer a lighter version of it.

DeSnifter- they weigh about the same. The panels that cover the side of the buttstock are composite over the skeletonized butt stock. this keeps your mechanical components clean from debris in the field.
