Trying to narrow it down between these 1-X scopes:

Strike Eagle is on sale at Optics Planet

Primary Arms reticle is my favorite of the three

SWFA is made in Japan (maybe?) and I like the knobs but not crazy for the reticle

I'll buy whichever the Sniper's Hide peanut gallery says is best, not going over 300$ though (it's a budget plinker rifle)

It's slightly over your budget, but I bought one of these, and liked it so much, I bought a 2nd one... The glass is great, the reticle is really nice, the huge 34mm tube is bright and built like a tank, and the illuminated reticle is exceptional...It even has 2 NV settings and 9 other settings.

There's someone with a sig tango 1-10x28 for sale in my area they probably come out of the same factory in china. I wasn't really looking past a 6x because cheaper scopes the higher magnification usually have image/eyebox issues. Plus I have an adm 30mm mount to use.
The RT6 is made in Philippines. If that matters to you. One step above China in my opinion. Has a decent reputation at its price point

I looked through one of those Sigs at a local store, and honestly, it wasn’t bad, but it just felt a bit cheap. That PA SLx 1-10x28 is a beast for $450. You would be impressed. It blows away my Strike Eagle 1-8x24 SFP.

But, if you’re only looking for a 1-6 for the $300 price, I’m not sure which to choose.

I used to think that, and 10 years ago that was correct…But China has nearly surpassed them. When I compare my new model Chinese OEM scopes to my older Philippines Made Vortex and Simmons scopes, it’s 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other… 🤷🏼

I agree. A lot of that is based on manufacturing specifications from the company though as well. I owned several of the Burris XTRII’s and Vortex PST which both were made in the Philippines. Those vortex were feature rich for that time but wouldn’t hold a candle to the Burris in the reliability department.

Companies since then like Athlon and Arken etc have upped the game for Chinese optics though. Although I think anyone can agree the quality control can be spotty

what type of shooting are you doing? What ranges? Without more info your just gonna hear peoples personal choices, which they might prefer because they use it totally differently than you will.

if this is mainly a 1X with the ability to occasionally crank up the mag, I would wait for the upcoming fiber reticle PA 1-6, though it will probably exceed your budget.
