Ive been attempting to teach a buddy the fundamentals.
The problem is, my communication skills suck as bad as his comprehension skills.
I preach consistency. I say it wrong or he hears it wrong, Dunno.
However it got me to thinking.

Im gonna make six little dabs of black RTV on my rifle that he's shooting. Maybe seven. Theses little dabs will be shaped like hershey kisses only real small. A little bigger than brail dots. Three under the trigger group, for middle, ring and pinky. One on the bottom of the trigger shoe, one in the tang area for thumb, and one or two on the butt stock for cheek weld. Say where the side of lip touches and one on the cheek maybe.

In theory, this should give him consistant strong hand and cheek weld reference points and provide consistant "return to" spots time after time. It could be easily removed and or changed to fit him, or the next person down the road.

Your thoughts?

Re: Strong hand placement.

Without decent trigger contact and follow-through or manipulation, it may be a moot point to have him focus on holding grip contact points. You could have him hold position (assumed prone and supported) for extended periods (allowing minor learning adjustments) and call to fire. Another way to help make fit and memory. If you slap or are not square to the trigger you can't shoot well and if your predestined to quick fatique you can't shoot well.
