Stupid Question with Care and Maintenance

Hey Guys and Gals,

I've got a stupid question here for you - I recently got an Accuracy International AW308 and was wondering how the heck to take care of it as I'm more of an AR platform kind of guy. From what I've been able to find online and other forums, along with care of AR's, I understand the basics but I would like to see what others do for long range rifles. Most of my questions reside in technique like 'should i use a boreguide?' and 'do I finally need copper solvents to clean the barrel?'. Any direction and recommendation is greatly appreciated.

PS - is there a maintenance section that I'm just not seeing?

It's not very complicated, clean the barrel when groups open up, take note and clean 50 or so rounds before then in the future. Clean the chamber, bolt and lug recess occasionally.

I use the foamy wipe-out over 3 sessions with patches. Apply it, let it sit a few hours, 3 patches. Repeat x 2. The last patch should be clean enough. A little bore oil, 2 dry patches, hit the chamber and wipe down the bolt, a little grease behind the lugs and I'm done.

I'd recommend a bore guide and a nice Dewey rod to protect your throat.
