Suppressors Subsonic- Barrel length-Hi Vel

I am not sure I can formulate the ? properly but here goes:

I have a GemTech OutBK2...

Barrel lenght, Velocity....

I am going to get another Ruger Mark ll in Blue/stainlss and have the barrel cut down to 2 inches or less. Sight remounted and the muzzle threaded for my OutBack.

I know Subsnonic ammo will be fine but how well will Hi-vel .22 ammo
be Supressed by shortening the barrel. shortening the barrel will reduce velocity.......

in 22lr usually high velocity stuff will stay subsonice in a 5 inch barrel.

I remember chronographing Fed and Rem high velocity out of Ruger 5 1/2" and Hi Standard. Right at 1000 fps. No need to cut the barrel down at all !

I ran into issues with standard Hi Vel .22 making a sonic crack out of a 5" Walther P22, have never had an issue with a 3.4" Walther P22.

Of course it all depends on temp, etc

I noticed tonight in my 16" AR that Wally world Federal bulk was only cracking about half the time. It is always subsonic in the 4" ruger MKII.
