Hey y'all:

The 'hide google function helped alot--but I still have one question.

I have a 1 in 16 twist cz 452 that I am using as a trainer.

I will be training in my pasture, but neighbors will be on the left and right.

I will not have a dirt backstop, just be hay bales and some plywood.

Downrange is mud pastures and more mud.

I am building a 25 meter range.

So, any suggestions on best blend of accuracy, quiet, and poor penetration (the 60 grain Aquila SSS ammo hits pretty hard I understand).

Thanks in advance.

Remington subsonics are what I shoot in my 452. Not real expensive, very accurate, hollow points do a good job on small varmints.

Thanks for the input:

Suppressor is on the list, but I am taking two trips to thunder ranch this year and funds won't allow it.

The shooting area is 20 foot gravel "road" between the house and the shop building. It is gated to the front into the pasture and I will use the open gate + a "warning" rope as a shooting lane.

I can shoot when the kids are at school

The area is also gated to the rear and makes "dedicated shooting lane" to the front. I will set up a "U" shaped target area.

I can do 50 yards. The pasture gets about 5 foot high in the springtime and mowing is an issue. Also the grass hay gets sold so I cannot mow too much hay.

The goal, at this stage is the basics (trigger, breathing, sight picture, cheek weld, etc).

CCI Standard Velocity which is really subsonic (Std Vel is usually around 1150-ish FPS but the CCI is rated at 1070) is what I use to train and plink. It's $25 a brick at Dick's and shoots really really well. It's the same round as their green label but I assume it just doesn't have the same stringent QC after manufacturing.

X2. They are NOT the best accuracy wise, but are the least money if you are going to shoot alot of them. RWS subsonic HP was the the most accurate and most quiet for me with suppressed bolt action.
