I just finished up 2 recent builds in the last month and finally found the time to get out and break them in and start working on fire forming and load development. First rifle is my latest prs build. Have a couple now but found an excuse lol.
rifle consists of;
impact 737r
KS arms 1:7.5 twist heavy varmint and benchmark 1:7.5 twist mtu
Tt diamond flat show
Mpa ba comp
chambered in 6bra
I picked the first load I could find for fireforming and load up and headed to the range. 0 load development and results look extremely good! Load was 2848fps with 105 hybrids with an sd of 5.6 and an es of 18 for 20 rounds.
Second is a coyote build I’ve been thinking about doing for way to long and finally started earlier this year and arrived early late june.
build consists of
KS arms SAR 3 lug action
Benchmark 1:10 twist #5 and a KS #5 1:11 twist.
McMillan htg
Hawkins bottom metal
Tt diamond
I loaded up an extremely mild load for barrel break in. Once finished I finished off 5 to re foul and did 4- 6 shot pressure tests from 26-27gr of 8208xbr in .2gr increments. 2 of the ladders consisted of 39gr blitzkings and 2 of 35gr bergers. I loaded up two of the same ladders for each bullet incase there was any misreadings on the chrony. 35 gr bergers look like they need some work, but the 39gr blitzkings just stacked on top of each other. The first round (26gr) from each ladder was a flier then 26.2-27 just looked too pretty. I have included the group with and without the flier just due to the fact both times it was 26g
overall I’m very pleased with the results from both rifles and looking forward to getting the 20 tactical tuned in and lots of practice before the cold weather comes and ready for coyotes, and looking very much forward to seeing what this bra can really do if this was just fire forming and 0 load development and 0 seating depth change!
then of course finished off the day with a friendly 22lr match.
