I had a Shooting Chrony (which sucks to high heaven) and I would use wooden dowels in the place of the metal side aiming guide posts. This would prevent any damage to the sensors in the event they would be shot.

Does anyone have any bright ideas to substitute the side panels on a CED Millenium 2 unit? They mount in a flat receiver somewhat larger than a penny on its side like a coin slot.

Replacements are $22 plus shipping, and I fear the inevitable!

Yes- Don't shoot them! I've shot one of the supports, and it's not a big deal. The bullet took a slight section out of the support, but it still works. If you buy the IR screens, it comes with 4 more supports, which give you a total of 8. That might help.
