Trying to find an alternative to the ridiculously long 110... I own a tbac ultra 9 (really wish I had gone with the 5 or 7...) and am considering building a 13 or 14 inch upper. I figure the ultra 9 will bring the barrel length to about 22-23 inches which comes in at 5 inches shorter than the 110 barrel with the stupid kac suppressor. I just don't want to ruin a personal can, or gain too much volume by going too short. Would a 16 inch barrel with a 7 inch can be louder than a 14 inch barrel with a 9 inch can with the same ammo? Thanks for reading, looking forward to replies.

if I go through with building this I would want an adjustable gas block... What would you guys recommend? The superlative arms bleed off thing looks really neat.

I have a Wilson Combat 308 with a 14.5' barrel with a welded on muzzle brake. I always shoot it suppressed and love it for 500 yards and in. very easy to maneuver around and not stupid heavy.

Wilson Combat are Armalite pattern-ish, but are proprietary (like most 308 AR types) and will only fit on a Wilson lower. That TBAC ultra 9 is only rated down to a 14.5" 308, have you talked to them about running a shorter barrel? It's gonna heat up quickly. I'm waiting on a Dead Air sandman-s just for short barrel 308. I have a couple Griffin Armament Recce 7 which are work horses and can handle a 12.5" 308, but I wanted the Dead Air QD attachment for the shorty.
I built out a stripped 308 KAC receiver set with an SLR titanium Sentry adjustable gas block, and it works well and is easy to adjust. When the stamp comes in for the KAC, the barrel will get cut to 12.5". I'll get the barrel engraved with the trust info. I currently have a stamp for a Christensen Arms lower, and that will be 12.5" as well. Might go with the VLTOR A5 system and an AGB to help the recoil.
I've read good things about the Superlative Arms though no hands on.
You will probably have to swap the barrel, I don't imagine you will find another manufacturer with an upper to fit KAC.
