Range Report Suppressed .260 MV and Performance

Shooters,

My shooting partner and I are building our first .260s (and are new to suppressors)

We are wondering what affect a can will have on muzzle velocity.

We are looking for optimal ballistics which have lead us to believe the ‘free velocity’ inherit in a longer barrel will best serve our needs but having a long tube and a can is cumbersome.

So with this in mind, will the can help us retain MV with a slightly shorter barrel? (eg 23" w/ can = 26 w/o?)

My suppressor doesn't make a lick of difference. Some people report higher MV's, some get none, some say it slowed down their stuff... The best answer is really "shoot it and find out"

I have a few suppressors and at least for my rifles they gave me about 15fps increase in 308win and 6.5 non-mag calibers...but overall not much of a difference.

"most" i have seen and others, is +15 to +30fps with a can...
