Suppressed Kimbers

Hey guys, picked up a Kimber Hunter the other day and was wondering if anybody has suppressed these? When I was picking it up I was talking to my buddy and he said he had a rifle with a pencil barrel (much thicker than this) that he had threaded but it would not shoot with the suppressor worth a darn. Without it was a shooter.

So I don't know much about this, and my suppressor isn't mission critical on this rifle. But with that said, does anybody know if I should even bother threading it?

What is the muzzle diameter? Most supressors are going to need a shoulder of ~ 0.75”…

Every barrel is different.

I do all my load development with a can on and use the same can every time.

If you're using factory ammo it's a total crapshoot. Just have to test ammo with the can.

I haven't seen a Kimber yet that shoots worth a damn. So good luck.

I think a light barrel will have a few more variables that can affect accuracy. But you could still attain good accuracy.

I'd think the lighter the can the less it would affect it. LRI has a couple comments on some posts I can't find. But it's definitely possible to have perfect accuracy if done right.

I’ve suppressed a Kimber Adirondack and mountain ascent, both factory threaded and both shot well. *Typically* those that say their Kimber isn’t shooting well is due to poor shooting form with lightweight rifles. They’re not very forgiving like a heavier rifle, but the capability is still there.
