Suppressors Suppressor affect on pressure / velocity

Yes, they will put a little more back pressure on the chamber. If the load is already hot you may have to drop a couple tenths of grains of powder to keep bolt from getting sticky. Some will report a small increase in velocity.

I forgot to add, that is it possible for a suppressor to increase pressure in a roundabout way, if the additional carbon dusting or accumulation makes an already tight neck or throat all of a sudden "too tight", you'll get a pressure increase from that. In my experience, that is very rare.

My experience with a AI/AT .26" bbl 260rem is around 5fps increase using hand loads and a Magnetospeed V3. Frankly very small, withing the SD. This could have been a warmer barrel on vs off.
Only tested probably a dozen groups/loads off vs on. Almost always shoot suppressed.

Zak, thanks for the info, I was thinking the can was NOT going to affect chamber pressure or speed but the knowledge base here is to tempting not to verify

One other thing to add is they can cause false pressure signs in gas-operated semi autos, even though as you said they don't raise chamber pressure. Unlocking the bolt too early in an already overgassed rifle (as many ARs are) can often cause swipes, which some people interpret as pressure signs. I suspect that is the source of the myth that suppressors raise pressure.
