Suppressors Suppressor for Savage 10BAS-K

Re: Suppressor for Savage 10BAS-K

It's a bolt action .308.... There's a TON of suppressors out there that will work. They all "work" to one degree or another.

SH Google Search

Figure out what kind of construction and features you want in what price range, then start asking questions.

Re: Suppressor for Savage 10BAS-K

Thanks for the reply. I guess I don't really know enough about this to ask the right questions. I have been looking at various manufacturers and have seen construction in steel, stainless, and Ti. I don't plan on using it for rapid sustained fire so I don't suppose that heat dissipation is going to be an issue, however ever maunufacturer seems to claim that their can is superior to everyone elses. As far as price I would be willing at this point to spend about $1500, unless I could be convinced that a more expensive product is vastly supperior for my application. I am active LEO, but this would mostly be for general range fun.

Re: Suppressor for Savage 10BAS-K

thanks. The rifle already has a muzzle break threaded on. I take it from your answer that you dont trust quick attachment features. I have looked at the gemtech and was leaning that direction. Thanks again

Re: Suppressor for Savage 10BAS-K

I just went through something interesting with a customer's 110BA. The crush (belville) washer was installed with the small side toward the brake. The brake has no thread relief. The washer was swaged into the threads such that it is was not readily removeable: even if resorting locking jaws on the outside of the crush washer.

The factory confirmed that this happens and that they specify installation of the crush washer in this orientation.

Based on the luck of the draw I surmise some/most rifles do not have much rotatation to line up the brake and this is not an issue. Our can does attach to your that application with the 5/8-24 RH thread, but the crush washer between the brake and the thread shoulder on the barrel would need to definitely be removed.

Based on the factory thread specifications, I would say that the factory threads are an adequate mount for our BREVIS 7.62 or .338 suppressor. As with all muzzle mounted accessories, always check the alignement before initial firing.
