Looking for a special purpose suppressor for Varmint hunting, specifically Prairie Dogs. This suppressor needs to be accurate, it will go on a 223 and a 308 bolt gun. The rate of fire is around 600 to 1000 rounds in a 6hr time span and we do this about once a week. What suppressor or suppressors do you suggest?
I would love to eventually put this suppressor on a semi auto (no mag dumping will occur). I know that some suppressors such as Silencerco Harvester and Thunderbeast doesn’t recommend running it on a semi auto especially at this rate of fire (unless I am mistaken).

The TBAC 30P or 30BA would be my first choice and at the rate of 1.7 shots per minute, I'm thinking the TBAC should be able to handle it. Otherwise, SilencerCo Saker 762 and take advantage of being able to replace the front cap with a 223 size cap to reduce additional sound.

It may not be the best or highest rated can but the yhm phantom is what I reach for when it comes to needing a can that can take the heat. I've never lost any accuracy with it on Any of my guns either. Poi shift has always been repeatable for me also

I'd give Zak at Thunderbeast a call, he/they are super helpful and will point you in the right direction. I would think that 1000rds/6hrs or a round every 20 seconds should be fine. On their website they do say their regular cans are "ideal for varmint hunting" and "sustained semi-auto fire". My understanding is issues with during mag dump after mag dump with full autos or SBR's, those should use their beefed up can. But he would be the best to tell you. After owning another brand, I switched to Thunderbeast due to their reputation for accuracy.
On a side note, I'd love to know where I can get a chance to try my 30BA & 22L-1 out for 1000/day on p-doggin! seriously hook a guy up!

If your shooting that much a day you need to get a can for each rifle, they will be heat up pretty good. It would get old fast switching from rifle to rifle. If you can't tell I don't like sharing suppressors between guns, just the way I am.

Remember the can will retain more heat and keep your barrel even hotter.

The "sustained semi auto fire" is listed for the 223P-1.

Remember that Knight's Armament's recommendation for the SR25 is "firing no more than five rounds per minute for four minutes, then a two minute cooling period with the bolt open." I just put that there for perspective. We all shoot faster than that, even with bolt guns, but that's what they spec'd.

But the heat builds up and there, are a lot of factors. If you can keep it under about 700-800 degrees, no problem. If you're getting it hotter than that, you gotta let it cool down. A thermal cover will retain more heat...

My experience has shown me that with a volume of a 1k rounds per week, you should be looking for a suppressor u can take apart and clean or u will have problems in the near future. Just my .02

Thanks so far for all the feedback and advise so far. I am looking at getting the TBAC 30BA AND a silencerco Saker 762 to put on my other rifle and just swap guns as I let one setup cool. I am also looking at the silencerco Harvester as a 3rd option possibly down the road however I am most excited for the TBAC from the proven track record that they have... PLUS... Im from cheyenne originally and looking to move back shortly and want to support a local business.

I havent pulled the trigger on anything yet but Im hoping to go check them out this weekend.
