I was listening to Franks latest podcast earlier this week and he commented on how adding a suppressor should improve accuracy on the bullet downrange due to the less recoil and the noise reduction . While overthinking this, I am curious if anybody has ever done a test Suppressor vs Muzzle Brake using different shooters same rifle to see if there is any variation from shooter to shooter in reference to accuracy due to the recoil and/or noise effects? I would think that suppressor and /or muzzle brake shooting accuracy would vary shooter to shooter, since shooters reaction are different to the recoil after the trigger is pulled as well as the noise disbursements at the same moment.

Can’t speak directly to muzzle brakes vs cans but shooting my Mk13 mod 5 without the can vs with it on is night and day.

Groups are tighter down range primarily due better execution of the fundamentals which is derived from the recoil reduction the can provides. I flinch a lot less, less tension overall in my body as I’m not anticipating the recoil as much...A buddy felt the same way when shooting it without the can then with it and his groups were similarly better.

Should also mention the can makes the rifle a joy to shoot and is hearing safe with only regular earbuds in.

I have been shooting mine a fair bit in both modes lately as I am having some other issues I am working on, but do see notably smaller groups with the suppressor than the brake. I am the weakest part of the system, so buy that it's how nice it is to shoot. And man, is it nice.

Has no one ever done this test with a mechanical rest or something to see if there's any physical difference?

I enjoy Suppressors and shoot very often with them , just filled all the paperwork for another 308 suppressor and would not have a problem giving up a little accuracy for the noise reduction if that is the case.
Fundamentals are the basics as always for all shooting and a mechanical rest would reflect the differences. I still wonder if shooters individually handle the recoil and noise differently creating accuracy issues.
